The latest development of OLED materials
OLED(organic light-emitting Diode) is a backlight free, liquid crystal free self-luminous display with excellent color saturation, contrast and reaction speed. Because the material is thinner, transparent and flexible, OLED can achieve a variety of designs. In the global OLED supplier pattern, South Korea is in a relatively dominant position, and domestic enterprises represented by Vicinosa and boe are catching up. From the OLED project of Tsinghua University, Vicigna is an innovative technology enterprise, which has led the formulation of OLED international standards and national standards, and has the strength to lead the development of the national OLED industry earlier in the industrial layout.
intro
organic light-emitting diode (OLED) is a display technology developed and patented by Kodak that uses organic polymer materials as semiconductor materials in light-emitting diodes.
OLED display technology is widely used in mobile phones, digital video cameras, DVD players, personal digital assistants (PDAs), laptop computers, car stereos and televisions. The OLED display is thin and light because it does not use a backlight. The OLED display also has a wide-screen viewing Angle of up to 170 degrees and operates at a voltage of two to ten volts (volt, expressed in V).
The new OLED-based technology is Flexible OLED (FOLED), which has the potential to make highly portable, foldable displays possible in the future.
Development status
Folding the international situation
OLED technology originated in Europe and the United States, but the countries/regions that have achieved large-scale industrialization are mainly concentrated in East Asia, such as Japan, South Korea, China and other regions.
The global OLED industry is still in the early stage of industrialization. The products of the global enterprises involved in the OLED industry are mainly small size passive OLED devices, and the active OLED devices that really pose a threat to LCD(liquid crystal) have only a few companies to achieve mass production.
Although China has a certain OLED industry foundation, the industrial chain is not perfect, especially the competitiveness of upstream products is not strong. The key equipment and the systematic technology of the whole equipment are mostly in the hands of Japanese, Korean and European enterprises.
